They provide free resources, training, and events that promote understanding, inclusion, and support. Since 2000, Pathfinders has connected thousands of families to life-changing programs, empowering them to navigate the challenges and celebrate the successes of life with autism.
Pathfinders for Autism was founded in 2000 by former Major League Baseball player B.J. Surhoff and his wife, Polly, after their son was diagnosed with autism. Inspired by their own search for answers and support, the Surhoffs set out to create a resource that could guide other families through the challenges of autism. Their vision grew into Maryland’s largest autism organization, offering free programs, training, and events that make a lasting difference in the lives of individuals with autism and their families.
