You can share your link right from this page. Or you can share your friend’s information directly. We’ll pre-qualify them and schedule their solar consultation.
Once your friend completes their free solar consultation, you receive a $50 reward as a thank you for referring your friend.

To celebrate their shared connection, we coordinated for all five homes to be installed on the same day and gathered to celebrate the community that made it happen.

How It Works
After you submit a referral, a Lumina team member will reach out to your friend to schedule their free solar consultation. During the consultation, we review their home, energy usage, and solar options so they can decide whether solar makes sense for them.
No. The consultation is simply an opportunity to learn about solar and ask questions. Lumina Solar Consultants focus on education and helping homeowners understand their options. If solar isn’t the right fit for their home or goals, there’s no obligation to move forward.
First, your friend must complete their free solar consultation with Lumina. Once the consultation is finished, you’ll receive your $50 referral reward.
If your friend decides to move forward with solar, they’ll sign an agreement with Lumina and we’ll handle the rest — including surveying the home, securing permits, applying for incentives when applicable, installing the system, and scheduling inspections.
Once your friend’s solar installation is complete, both you and your friend will receive your installation rewards.
You can share your referral link with as many people as you’d like, or submit their information directly through the referral form.
Your reward tier is based on when your friends’ solar installations are completed — not when the referral was submitted. Solar project timelines can vary depending on permitting, HOA approvals, system size, and other factors.
Yes — depending on how you share the referral.
If you share your referral link by email, the message will identify you as the person who recommended Lumina.
If you share the link by text message, the message will come directly from your phone number.
If you submit your friend’s information through the referral form, Lumina will reach out to them directly. By submitting their information, you confirm that they have given you permission to share their contact details with Lumina.
Rewards
When you refer a friend, you have TWO chances to earn rewards!
First, you’ll receive $50 when your friend completes their solar consultation.
Then, once your friend goes solar, you will receive another reward. This reward increases as more of your friends go solar with Lumina:
1st–3rd installs: $500 each
4th–6th installs: $1,000 each
7th–9th installs: $1,500 each
10+ installs: $2,000 each
There’s no limit to how many friends you can refer!
$50 consultation reward: Sent after your friend completes their solar consultation.
Installation rewards: Sent after your friend’s solar system is installed.
All rewards will be sent within 15 business days after each reward milestone.
Rewards are sent to your email through Tremendous, where you can choose from hundreds of digital gift cards, a prepaid Visa card, or even donate the reward to a nonprofit.
The IRS requires us to collect a W-9 form for individuals who earn $2,000 or more in a calendar year.
To make the process easier, we ask everyone receiving rewards to complete a W-9 at their first reward. This ensures there are no delays if you earn additional rewards later.
Once we have your W-9 on file, you won’t need to submit another one unless your address or contact information changes.
Eligibility
Anyone can participate by referring a homeowner interested in going solar with Lumina. You do not need to be a Lumina customer to refer someone!
Yes — but business referrals are handled through a separate program and do not count toward the tiered bonuses in this residential referral program.
If you refer a business interested in solar, you’ll receive a $1,500 reward once the business signs their final contract with Lumina. To refer a business, visit our Commercial Solar Referral Page
To qualify for the referral program, the referral must be submitted before your friend schedules their consultation with Lumina.
If a referral connection is discovered after your friend has already completed their consultation, unfortunately we won’t be able to issue referral rewards.
No! You can refer as many friends, family members, or neighbors as you’d like. The more friends who go solar with Lumina, the more you can earn — up to $2,000 per installation.
